The 25 Best Techno Clubs in Europe (2026 Guide by Country)
The best techno clubs in Europe by country, from Berghain and fabric to Bassiani and Open Ground: 25 clubs with sound systems, door rules, prices and live calendar counts, checked in November 2026.

The best techno clubs in Europe right now are Berghain and Tresor in Berlin, fabric and FOLD in London, RADION in Amsterdam, Fuse in Brussels, INPUT in Barcelona, Rex Club in Paris and Bassiani and KHIDI in Tbilisi. That is the short answer. The long one below covers 25 clubs across 15 countries, grouped by country so you can plan around a flight, with sound systems, door rules and prices taken from our club guide.
Every club here was checked against our own events calendar on 1 November 2026. Between them, 24 of the 25 list 292 nights up to New Year’s Eve. The 25th is Amnesia, which closed for the winter in October.
How we chose these 25 clubs
Most “best clubs” lists are either reader polls or a tourist board’s idea of a night out. We used four tests instead:
- Techno sits at the core of the programme. Occasional techno nights at a house or EDM superclub do not count, which is why [UNVRS] and Ushuaïa, numbers 1 and 3 in the DJ Mag 2026 poll, are missing.
- It is open now. Each club needs dated nights on our calendar, or in Amnesia’s case a confirmed seasonal schedule.
- The facts can be checked. Door rules, hours and prices come from club sites and ticket listings, reviewed between September and November 2026.
- No country takes over. Germany alone could fill this list, so we capped each country at four.
The list is grouped by country, not ranked. A 410-capacity Glasgow basement and a 6,000-capacity Madrid complex are not competing for the same night.

Nights are the dates listed on our calendar from 1 November to 31 December 2026, so they measure how busy a programme is, not how good it is. n/a means the club does not publish that figure. Sub Club (28), Tresor (27), FOLD (26) and fabric (25) lead. KHIDI and Tenax list two each, which may only mean they publish closer to the date.
Best techno clubs in Germany
Germany has 132 clubs in our German directory, and Berlin has its own city guide. These four show the range, from the most famous door in clubbing to a bunker most tourists will never hear of.
Berghain, Berlin
Opened 2004 · Capacity about 1,500 · Funktion-One · DJ Mag 2026: #21
A former power plant in Friedrichshain, with the main floor for techno, Panorama Bar upstairs for house and the Säule on the ground floor. Klubnacht starts at 23:59 on Saturday and often runs into Monday. There is no published dress code, the door decides case by case and many people are turned away each weekend. Phone cameras get a sticker. Marcel Dettmann, Philippa Pacho and D-Leria are on the 7 November Klubnacht. If you want the backstory, read our Inside Berghain piece.
Tresor, Berlin
Opened 1991 · Capacity about 1,000 · Lambda Labs · Rooms: Tresor, Globus, Aurora Bar
Founded by Dimitri Hegemann months after reunification, Tresor started in the vaults of a department store and moved to the Heizkraftwerk power plant on Köpenicker Straße in 2007. Old safe deposit lockers came along and were built into the basement, where the sound stays with techno and electro. It is the busiest Berlin room on this list, with Dave Clarke as the invited guest on 7 November. A ticket does not guarantee entry and filming is banned.
Open Ground, Wuppertal
Opened 2023 · Capacity 600 · Custom Funktion-One · Entry EUR 20 to 30 (Oct and Nov 2026)
The newcomer that serious listeners travel for. Open Ground sits six metres underground in a converted Wuppertal bunker, two minutes from the main station, and was started by Markus Riedel with Hard Wax founder Mark Ernestus. Funktion-One tests new models here. The door judges attitude, not clothes, and Mala brings DEEP MEDi on 7 November. It is 18+ and bags are checked.
Bootshaus, Cologne
Opened 2004 · Capacity 2,000 · L-Acoustics · DJ Mag 2026: #11 · Entry EUR 19.90 to 36.90
The loudest pick on this list and the broadest crowd. Bootshaus sits under Cologne’s Zoobrücke with four floors, and the industrial Dreherei room is where the darker techno lives. Expect hard techno and bass rather than Berlin restraint: 999999999 and KLOFAMA play the Unreal Weekender on 6 and 7 November. Only an official ID, passport or driving licence is accepted as proof of age.
Best techno clubs in the UK
The UK lists more club nights than anywhere else on our calendar, across 111 clubs in our UK directory. Our UK techno guide goes further into Manchester and Bristol.
fabric, London
Opened 1999 · Capacity about 1,600 · Martin Audio · DJ Mag 2026: #13 · Entry GBP 15 to 30
Three rooms in former cold stores opposite Smithfield Market, with a bodysonic floor in Room One that lets you feel the bass through your feet. Saturdays are the house and techno night, anchored by founding residents Craig Richards and Terry Francis, and Marcel Dettmann and Ellen Allien play on 7 November. ID is scanned, phones are stickered, and business suits, flags and glow wear are not allowed.
FOLD, London
Opened 2018 · Capacity 520 · Funktion-One · Rooms: Main Room, Steam Room
A former print works on a Canning Town industrial estate, chosen because there were no neighbours to object and the club could hold a 24-hour licence. The booth sits at floor level and the only raised platforms are scaffolding for dancers. Wata Igarashi, Paquita Gordon and Konduku are on Transmissions x Midgar on 7 November. Age limits change by event, so check the listing: one October party was 21+.
Sub Club, Glasgow
Opened 1987 · Capacity 410 · Martin Audio · Challenge 25 ID checks
One of the longest-running underground clubs anywhere, in a Jamaica Street basement a few minutes from Glasgow Central. Subculture, the Saturday residency of Harri and Domenic, dates from 1994 and is billed by the club as the longest-running weekly house and techno night. Domenic Cappello plays on 7 November. Sub Club has the most listed nights of any club here, and closes at 04:00 unless stated otherwise, so arrive early.
Best techno clubs in the Netherlands
Two Amsterdam rooms stand out, and the full map is in our Amsterdam club guide. Our Dutch directory covers the other cities.
RADION, Amsterdam
Opened 2014 · 24-hour licence · VOID Stasys main room · Entry about EUR 22.50 to 32.50
A brutalist former dental school in Nieuw-West, stripped back to raw concrete. RADION is where sound obsessives go: the main room runs a rebuilt VOID Stasys system, and the Bovenkamer upstairs uses Prof Sound horn stacks from the early 1990s. Rødhåd plays all night long on 20 November. Bring a physical ID, as digital copies are refused, and wear closed-toe shoes.
Shelter, Amsterdam
Opened 2016 · 24-hour licence · DJ Mag 2026: #90 · Entry EUR 22.50 to 25
The basement of the A’DAM Toren, reached by the free ferry from behind Centraal. House and techno lead, with trance and italo disco also on the monthly programme. Doors close at 04:00, phones stay off the floor, and suits, dress shirts and football shirts can be refused. It is the best first club in Amsterdam for a visitor, because the journey is half of the night.
Best techno club in Belgium: Fuse
Belgium has a full guide of its own and 20 clubs in our Belgian directory, but one name comes first.
Fuse, Brussels
Opened 1994 · Capacity about 1,500 · Rooms: Room 01, Motion · Entry EUR 15 to 25
A 1925 neighbourhood cinema in the Marolles that turned into Belgium’s leading techno club, with Ben Klock and ÜBERKIKZ among its 2026/27 residencies. WSNWG, with Rødhåd on the bill, plays live all night long on 7 November. The no-phone policy is strict, and dark, functional clubwear goes down better than heels, formal wear or light-up clothes.

Best techno clubs in Spain
Spain splits three ways: a precise Barcelona room, a giant Madrid complex and an Ibiza season. See our Spanish directory and Barcelona guide for more.
INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club, Barcelona
Opened 2016 · Capacity 645 · Funktion-One · Entry EUR 40 (Oct 2026) · Minimum age 20
Inside the Poble Espanyol on Montjuïc, a circular floor wrapped by a 360-degree LED screen, so the visuals surround you instead of sitting behind the DJ. It opens midnight to 06:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and selected holidays. Dubfire plays on 7 November and Kangding Ray on 20 November. Note the minimum age, which is higher than most of Europe.
FABRIK, Madrid
Capacity 6,000 · Tecnare · DJ Mag 2026: #8 · CODE tickets from EUR 50
An industrial estate in Humanes de Madrid, south of the city, with seven spaces and a 43-room hotel on site. It is less a club than a one-day festival, and the long-running CODE party is the reason to come. Héctor Oaks plays part two of the 23rd anniversary on 14 November and Ben Sims part three on 5 December. Sort your transport first, because this is not a walk home. Bring an original ID; driving licences and photocopies are refused.
Amnesia, Ibiza
Opened 1976 · Capacity 3,800 · KV2 Audio · DJ Mag 2026: #16 · Season about May to mid October
The only Ibiza entry, because the Main Room is the island’s darker, enclosed techno space . The Terrace has a glass roof that opens, so daylight reaches the floor at sunrise. 2026 was its 50th season and closing tickets started at EUR 50 to EUR 80. It is shut until spring, so use our Ibiza parties guide to plan 2027.
Best techno clubs in France
Paris gets the attention, but the bigger room is in Nantes. Browse the rest in our French directory.
Rex Club, Paris
Opened 1973 · Capacity 800 · d&b audiotechnik · Entry EUR 8 to 11 midweek, EUR 16 to 21 weekends
Beneath the Grand Rex cinema, one room and more than 60 speaker points. Its electronic story began in 1988 with an acid house night that brought over a young Laurent Garnier, and Daft Punk and Jeff Mills have played here since. It is also remarkably cheap for central Paris, with midweek entry from EUR 8. Antal plays all night long on 7 November. Nights run from midnight to 07:00.
Warehouse, Nantes
Opened 2017 · Capacity 2,500 · DJ Mag 2026: #53 · Entry about EUR 26 to 36
On the Quai des Antilles at the tip of the Île de Nantes, half concert hall and half club, with the French Ministry of Culture’s Club Culture label. The programme runs from techno and hard music to pop nights, so check the bill before booking. Hardcore France and Eskape take over on 13 November. There is no dress code, but entry is strictly 18+ with a physical ID.
Best techno clubs in Georgia
Tbilisi is geographically on Europe’s edge and musically close to its centre. Two clubs carry the city’s name abroad. The rest are in our Georgian directory.
Bassiani, Tbilisi
Opened 2014 · Capacity about 1,200 · Rooms: Bassiani, Horoom · Entry GEL 22 to 32 (Oct 2026)
A dancefloor in a disused swimming pool under the Dinamo Arena, and the largest techno club in Georgia. Horoom, the second room, hosts the LGBTQ Horoom Nights series. Entry works through membership, so register on bassiani.com before you travel, and expect a search and a full ban on photos. DVS1, a resident, plays on 13 November with Wata Igarashi.
KHIDI, Tbilisi
Opened 2016 · Capacity about 1,200 · Rooms: KHIDI, G2 · Presale GEL 30 to 80
KHIDI means bridge, and the club sits under the Vakhushti Bagrationi Bridge on the embankment. The main stage carries the harder programme, with residents such as Ancient Methods, and G2 leans towards house and young Georgian DJs. Nights begin at midnight and can run well into the next afternoon. Tickets are sold through a KHIDI account, which asks for an ID or passport number, so set it up in advance. Suits and uniforms can be refused.
Best techno clubs in Central and Eastern Europe
Tickets are often cheaper here and the crowds more local, though Vienna is the exception on price. For the wider scene, see our guides to Budapest, Poland, Vienna and Serbia.
Arzenál, Budapest
Budapest · Capacity 1,580 · Open on event days only · 18+ with physical photo ID
A club and cultural centre on the grounds of the old Weapons Factory in the 9th district. Outside promoters run most nights, so prices and start times change from one event to the next. That also means some free nights: Johanna Bozai and ädene play all night long on 14 November with no ticket. Lockers replace a cloakroom, and night bus 923 stops right by the club.
Jasna 1, Warsaw
Warsaw · Rooms: main floor, SALON, SEJF · Entry about PLN 70 to 90 for an Unsound night
A central Warsaw club with VTSS, Rene Wise and Dtekk among a large resident roster. SEJF, a small room at the end of SALON, is kept for ambient and experimental music. An awareness team in blue shirts works every weekend, and a no-photo rule applies on club nights. FJAAK play on 7 November. Note that there is no re-entry and that the door can refuse guests who do not share the club’s values.
Ankali, Prague
Prague · Former soap factory · Entry CZK 200 to 350 (Oct 2026)
A club in Vršovice with a Na louži sister space, Planeta Za, which also hosts community station shella.radio. Ankali feels closer to a collective than a venue, and every month’s programme comes with artwork made by an invited artist. LOLSNAKE plays BRUXA on 13 November. Door staff can refuse visibly intoxicated guests even with a presale ticket, but refund it.
Grelle Forelle, Vienna
Vienna · Opened 2011 · Capacity 700 · Alcons Audio and Lambda Labs · 21+ on club nights
On the Danube Canal near Spittelau station, with the main Clubfloor and the smaller Kitchen. There is no table service or VIP, and the double-wave horn bass is the point of coming. Altinbas plays Fish Market on 20 November. Doors close after 05:30, recording is banned and the coat check is mandatory, so budget for it.
Drugstore, Belgrade
Belgrade · Reopened in its current space in 2014 · Rooms: main room, Mali klub, summer garden
A DIY club in the old city slaughterhouse, built from scratch by a group of friends. Techno and experimental music carry the programme, with hardcore nights and local series such as MRAK and ALTEREGO. Chris Liberator plays ALTEREGO on 20 November. It is the rawest room here, and we could not confirm a published door policy or price, so check each event before you go.
Best techno clubs in Italy, Portugal and Ireland
Three countries, three different ideas of a club night. Our Dublin guide and Italian directory cover the wider picture.
Tenax, Florence
Florence · Opened 1981 · Capacity 999 · DJ Mag 2026: #89 · Saturdays, autumn to spring
A new wave landmark near Peretola that hosted New Order and Bauhaus in the 1980s, before DJs took over. Today it is a Saturday-night club that follows an autumn to spring season, so plan around that. Enrico Sangiuliano plays on 7 November and Luca Agnelli on 14 November. Advance tickets for October ran from EUR 20 to EUR 43 on Dice.
Lux Frágil, Lisbon
Lisbon · Opened 1998 · Capacity 1,500 · Entry about EUR 17 to 20 · Dice lists 16+
A 1910 warehouse on the Tagus, over three levels with a rooftop terrace above the river and no VIP area. House, disco and techno share the bill, so it is the softest landing on this list and the only one we would suggest to a friend who says they do not like techno. Pancratio and Rui Vargas play on 6 November. Flip-flops and clothes showing a sports club are not welcome.
Index, Dublin
Dublin · Capacity about 1,000 · DJ Mag 2026: #80 · Entry about EUR 22 to 33
Index began as a promoter in 2017 and moved into the former Academy building on Middle Abbey Street in February 2025. Dublin closes early, so nights usually run 23:00 to 03:00, and bookings swing between tech house and techno. Eddie Halliwell and Mauro Picotto share a bill on 6 November, and Alan Fitzpatrick plays on 13 November. Everyone is searched at the door.
Where the nights are
We counted every club night listed at venues in our guide from 1 November to 31 December 2026. The UK and Germany together list more than the next nine European countries combined, though public listings favour them, so read this as a rough map, not a census.
The same data shows who is travelling. Across these 25 clubs, DVS1 has the most dates in the period with five, followed by Konduku, Virginia and Altinbas with four each.
Clubs you may see on older lists
European clubs are under real pressure. A Clubcommission study found only 61% of Berlin clubs broke even in 2025. Check before you book anything built around these names:
- Watergate, Berlin: closed at the end of 2024.
- Blitz, Munich: closed permanently, with its final weekend in summer 2026.
- Aether, Budapest: left its site in September 2026 after ten years.
- Tresor.West, Dortmund: closes at the end of 2026, with closing parties until then. Tresor in Berlin is not affected.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best techno club in Europe?
Berghain in Berlin is the most influential, for its Funktion-One main floor and its Klubnacht that often runs into Monday. For sound alone, we would point to RADION in Amsterdam or Open Ground in Wuppertal. Which is best depends on whether you value history, sound or a realistic chance of getting in.
Which European city is best for techno?
Berlin, for the number and depth of its clubs: 41 are in our guide. London has 34 and Amsterdam 26. For a cheaper weekend with a strong local scene, look at Tbilisi, Budapest or Prague.
What should I wear to a techno club in Europe?
Comfortable, dark clothes and closed shoes suit almost every club here. Most have no formal dress code, but suits, football shirts and glow wear are often refused. Fuse rules out heels and sandals, and RADION recommends closed-toe shoes.
How old do you have to be?
18 is the usual minimum, with a physical ID. The exceptions in this guide are Grelle Forelle (21 on club nights), INPUT (20) and some FOLD and RADION events (21). Lux Frágil’s Dice listings say 16.
Can you take photos in European techno clubs?
Usually not. Berghain, fabric, FOLD and Fuse put stickers on phone cameras, and Tresor, Bassiani and Grelle Forelle ban filming or recording. Check house rules before you go, because you can be removed for breaking them.
How much does a techno club cost in Europe?
In our October and November 2026 checks, prices ran from EUR 8 to 11 for a midweek night at Rex Club to EUR 40 at INPUT and from EUR 50 for CODE at FABRIK. Bassiani was GEL 22 to 32, and a few Arzenál nights are free. Buy in advance, as door prices tend to be higher.
Are techno clubs in Europe open in winter?
Nearly all city clubs run all year. Ibiza is the main exception: Amnesia runs from about May to mid October.
The TA view
If you have one trip, go to Berlin and accept that the Berghain door may say no, because Tresor is a short ride away. If you have already done Berlin, go to Tbilisi or Wuppertal: one for a scene that means something to the people in it, the other for what a room can sound like. Then look up what is on tonight in our techno events calendar, or browse all 1,185 venues in the club guide.
