About BASEMENT

BASEMENT is a project of Knockdown Center, opened in 2019 in the space beneath that arts venue on Flushing Avenue in Maspeth, Queens. It runs as a weekly techno club on Friday and Saturday nights, from 10:30pm to 7am, across two rooms: the main Basement floor and the smaller Studio. The programme is underground techno, and all-night-long sets are a regular feature. Resident Freddy K played the club's first all-night-long set, and the current residents also include Gabrielle Kwarteng, Lydo, Massimiliano Pagliara and NEWA. The house rules are as much a part of the identity as the music: no photos or video, no phones on the dancefloor, no glowing clothes, and the dancefloor is for dancing rather than conversation.
