Winter Techno Festivals in Europe 2026/2027: Dates, Lineups, Tickets

18 winter techno festivals in Europe from November 2026 to March 2027: Rave Rebels, MAYDAY Poland, Contact Munich, Rave On Snow, Polaris Verbier, Tomorrowland Winter and DGTL, with dates, lineups and ticket prices.

Between the first weekend of November 2026 and the last weekend of March 2027, Europe’s techno calendar does not stop; it moves inside and uphill. We count 18 festivals in that window with confirmed dates on our own calendar, from a 13-hour arena marathon in Brussels on 6 November to DGTL at the NDSM docks on 26 to 28 March. Roughly half are city events in exhibition halls, railway cathedrals and converted factories; the other half are ski-resort weeks that use the lifts as part of the programme. This guide covers both, with dates, the names announced so far and what the tickets cost where organisers have published them.

Why winter techno is an indoor season, and why the Alps are the exception

The outdoor festival model in northern Europe runs on daylight, dry ground and park licences, and all three disappear in November. What replaces them is a venue type the continent happens to be rich in: large industrial halls with high ceilings and no neighbours. Utrecht’s Werkspoorkathedraal (a former railway workshop), Rotterdam’s Onderzeebootloods (a submarine wharf), Munich’s Zenith complex (connected halls of different sizes) and Katowice’s Spodek arena are not stand-ins for a field. They are better rooms for techno than most fields, which is why promoters such as Soenda, Toffler and Contact have built their winter editions around them rather than treating them as a fallback.

The economics also change. An indoor event has no stage build in the weather, no fencing, no overnight security for a greenfield site, and it can run 13 to 16 hours without a noise curfew. That is why November and December are full of single-day marathons rather than three-day camping festivals: Rave Rebels runs 13 hours each day, MAYDAY Poland runs 16 hours straight, Contact runs 14:00 to 05:00.

The Alps break the pattern because they already have the infrastructure a festival needs: lifts, mountain restaurants, hotel capacity and a population that arrives anyway. Rave On Snow effectively invented the format in the 1990s and uses the Hinterhag Alm above Saalbach as a stage; Polaris uses the start of the Verbier season; Tomorrowland Winter places stages across Alpe d’Huez so the programme follows the lifts. These are week-long events with a ski pass bundled in, and they price accordingly.

November: the arena month

Rave Rebels XXL Weekender opens the season at the ING Arena in Brussels on 6 and 7 November, two days the organisers call the biggest indoor techno festival in Belgium. The arena is run as a single main room rather than split into stages, and each day is a 13-hour marathon, the Friday starting at 19:00. Faithless, Kölsch and Richie Hawtin lead the first names, with Reinier Zonneveld and Colin Benders also announced. It is the most convenient date on this list for anyone flying in: the arena is 20 minutes from Brussels Airport.

MAYDAY Poland is the country’s longest-running indoor rave, held since 2000 and now in its 27th edition at the Spodek arena in Katowice on Tuesday 10 November. The format is one night, 16 hours and 20 artists, doors at 16:30. Sven Väth, Deborah De Luca, Lilly Palmer, Klaudia Gawlas, Felix Kröcher, Alignment, Perc and PetDuo are on the bill. The e-ticket is 349 złoty and the VIP souvenir ticket 799 złoty, which for a bill of that size is the best value in this guide.

Bonusz takes the Hungexpo grounds in Budapest on 13 and 14 November, the main indoor date on the Hungarian calendar. 999999999 play live, with Dubfire, Len Faki, Nico Moreno, Sam Paganini, Space 92, Mathame, Agents of Time, Ben Sims, DJ Rush, Fatima Hajji and Lewis Fautzi across the two days. Budapest in November is cheap, the halls are enormous and the bill runs from melodic to hard without apologising for either.

The Dutch weekend of 14 November belongs to Toffler Indoor Festival, which marks 15 years of the Rotterdam club by taking its programming into the Onderzeebootloods on the RDM wharf. The bill, published alphabetically, runs Benny Rodrigues, Beste Hira, East End Dubs, Estella Boersma, Len Faki, Luuk van Dijk, Michel de Hey and Prunk, with Hidde van Wee back to back with Boss Priester. A week later, on 21 November, Soenda Indoor fills the Werkspoorkathedraal in Utrecht with BENWAL, MALUGI, OLYMPE4000 and THELMA, SCHWESTA P, SAIDAH and FASTER HORSES with LAMMER. Soenda had reached its final ticket wave when we last checked, so treat it as nearly gone.

The same two weekends open the mountain season. Polaris Festival runs 20 to 21 November and again 27 to 28 November in Verbier, at 1,500 metres in the Valais, and its 2026 bill is the deepest of the winter: Charlotte de Witte, Chris Liebing, Carl Craig, Dixon, Moodymann, Jayda G, Mad Mike Banks, Armand Van Helden, Horse Meat Disco, St Germain, Deetron, Move D and Prosumer, with the first day run as Glitterbox x Polaris. Tickets are sold per day or as weekend passes, with super early bird pricing on the weekend passes only.

November closes in Spain. Drumcode Barcelona is a one-night event at Poble Espanyol on Saturday 28 November, part of the label’s 30th anniversary year, with Adam Beyer, Anna Tur, Bart Skils and Marco Faraone. The same weekend Blackworks Festival Bilbao takes the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Barakaldo on 28 and 29 November, the flagship of the Basque hard techno promoter; the 2026 names were not public when we checked, so follow the festival page for the announcement.

December: ski-season openers and the Munich machine

VERVE opens December at Andermatt on 4 and 5 December, 1,440 metres up at the meeting point of four Alpine passes, with three stages across the resort. Klangkuenstler and Stephan Bodzin head the bill, with Restricted and Ueberrest confirmed, which covers both ends of what the festival books: Bodzin’s melodic live set and the faster, harder room.

Contact Festival on 5 December is the one city event in this guide that competes with the big summer bills on names. Five stages across the Zenith, Kesselhaus, Kohlebunker and Dampfdom in Munich, 15:00 to 05:00, and a lineup of more than 30: I Hate Models, Kobosil, Klangkuenstler, Charlie Sparks, Daria Kolosova, SHDW, Reinier Zonneveld pres. Hardkar, Kalte Liebe live, Novah, Alarico b2b Yanamaste, Natte Visstick and Vendex among them. The Zenith site is a cluster of connected industrial halls of different sizes, which is what lets Contact run five genuinely different rooms instead of partitioning one.

The same Saturday, RESISTANCE, the underground arm of Ultra Worldwide, stages its own London event at Drumsheds on 5 December. Resistance began as a stage inside Ultra Miami in 2015 and now tours as a brand with its own Ibiza residency; the London lineup had not been announced when we checked.

Then the mountains take over. Rave On Snow returns to Saalbach-Hinterglemm from 10 to 13 December, the Austrian festival that has run since the 1990s and effectively invented the snow-rave format. The programme spreads across mountain huts, hotel venues and the valley floor, with the Hinterhag Alm above the village as a regular stage; getting up there costs the usual €32 mountain fare plus €12 for the Turmlift, or you walk. The full lineup was published on 16 September: Anfisa Letyago, Pan-Pot, Felix Kröcher, Radio Slave, Gregor Tresher, Steve Bug, Matthias Tanzmann, Chelina Manuhutu, Anna Tur, Marco Bailey, Mathias Kaden, Simina Grigoriu and around 40 more. Price Tier I festival tickets were still on sale in early October with a final tier to follow.

Magic Mountain runs the same four days, 10 to 13 December, at the foot of the Matterhorn in Zermatt. The programme alternates between day sessions at the Cervo Mountain Resort and nights at the Vernissage club in the Backstage Hotel, with WhoMadeWho (hybrid DJ set), Andrea Oliva, Emanuel Satie and Rampue live leading the 2026 names. Individual sessions start at CHF 29 for the Thursday opening and CHF 49 for the Friday and Saturday day and night events, which makes it the easiest Alpine festival to dip into for one night.

January to March: the Alpine run

January is the quiet month: the resorts are full of skiers who did not come for techno, and the city promoters are counting December’s takings. The calendar restarts in February with ElektrAV in Pamplona on 19 and 20 February, a festival built around the meeting of electronic music and audiovisual work. The 2027 bill is a history lesson with the lights on: Juan Atkins, Mathew Jonson, Legowelt, Anthony Rother, Dasha Rush, Nathan Fake and µ-Ziq.

March is the Alps. VSNZ Winter Arc returns to Männlichen above Grindelwald from 5 to 7 March, with Adriatique presents X the first announcement and the gondola (CHF 20 a day) part of the ticket maths; day passes run CHF 79 to 89, the three-day pass CHF 229. Caprices Festival celebrates its 25th edition with a new home, the Eggli station 1,600 metres above Gstaad, over two weekends from 12 to 21 March, lineup to follow. Tomorrowland Winter takes Alpe d’Huez from 20 to 27 March, a full week with stages placed across the mountain so the programme follows the lifts; it is the only Tomorrowland on snow and the 2027 names had not been published when we checked.

The season ends where the outdoor one will begin. DGTL Amsterdam runs 26 to 28 March at the NDSM Docklands, the former shipyard on the north bank of the IJ, with Armand van Helden the first name confirmed. It is the first festival of the year that trusts the weather, and it usually gets away with it.

Also on the slopes in the same window, and in our calendar with dates: Snowboxx in Avoriaz (13 to 20 March), Hibernation in Pas de la Casa (19 to 21 March), Shapes in Leysin (15 to 21 March) and Chamonix Unlimited (25 to 29 March). They book wider than techno, which is why they are footnotes here rather than entries.

What a winter weekend costs

Prices below are the lowest tier each organiser had published on 10 October 2026. Where a festival sells through an external shop without listing prices on its own site, we say so rather than guess.

FestivalCheapest listed ticketNote
MAYDAY Poland349 złotyVIP souvenir ticket 799 złoty
Magic Mountain ZermattCHF 29 per sessionDay and night events CHF 49, booked separately
VSNZ Winter ArcCHF 79 (Friday)Three-day pass CHF 229, gondola CHF 20 a day
Rave On SnowPrice Tier I (amount not listed)Mountain access €32 plus €12 Turmlift on stage days

Rave Rebels, Contact, Drumcode Barcelona, Toffler, Soenda, Bonusz, BlackworksExternal ticket shopsPrices on the shop pages linked from our festival pages
Tomorrowland Winter, Caprices, DGTLNot yet publishedPackages and lineups to follow

The pattern is consistent: a city marathon costs the price of a club night with a festival’s worth of names, while a mountain week is a ski holiday with a festival attached and should be budgeted as one. Lift passes, gondolas and resort accommodation are where the real money goes, not the ticket.

Frequently asked questions

Which winter techno festivals in Europe have the biggest lineups for 2026/27?

Polaris in Verbier (Charlotte de Witte, Chris Liebing, Carl Craig, Dixon, Moodymann), Contact in Munich (I Hate Models, Kobosil, Klangkuenstler, Charlie Sparks, Daria Kolosova) and Bonusz in Budapest (999999999, Dubfire, Len Faki, Nico Moreno, Sam Paganini) have the deepest confirmed bills. Rave On Snow has the longest list, with around 50 names published.

When is Tomorrowland Winter 2027?

Tomorrowland Winter runs from 20 to 27 March 2027 at Alpe d’Huez in the French Alps. It is the only Tomorrowland edition on snow, with stages placed across the mountain. The 2027 lineup had not been published on 10 October 2026.

Are winter techno festivals indoors?

In the cities, yes. Rave Rebels, MAYDAY Poland, Bonusz, Toffler, Soenda, Contact, RESISTANCE and Blackworks all run in arenas, exhibition halls or converted industrial buildings. The Alpine festivals (Polaris, VERVE, Rave On Snow, Magic Mountain, VSNZ, Caprices, Tomorrowland Winter) mix open-air mountain stages with hotel and club venues.

What is the cheapest winter techno festival in Europe?

On published prices, MAYDAY Poland at 349 złoty for 16 hours and 20 artists, followed by Magic Mountain Zermatt at CHF 29 to 49 per session. Alpine weeks cost more once lift passes and accommodation are added.

Which winter festivals are closest to an airport?

Rave Rebels (ING Arena, 20 minutes from Brussels Airport), Toffler and Soenda (Rotterdam and Utrecht, both under an hour from Schiphol), Contact (Munich) and Drumcode Barcelona. Of the mountain events, Verbier and Grindelwald are reachable from Geneva and Zurich in two to three hours by train.

The TA view

Winter is where the European techno circuit shows its structure most clearly. Promoters who own a relationship with a venue, Soenda with the Werkspoorkathedraal, Toffler with the Onderzeebootloods, Contact with the Zenith, programme the best value nights of the year because the room does half the work. The Alpine festivals sell something else, a week in a place you would visit anyway, and should be judged as holidays with a soundtrack rather than compared on ticket price. Pick one of each. The November arena marathons are where the serious bills are; the March mountain weeks are where you go once the season has worn you down.
