Voting for DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2026 closes on 16 September at 23:59 GMT, and the results follow a few weeks later at a live awards show. This page is where we will publish the final list and the techno positions the moment they are announced. Until then, here is when to expect the count, where the genre stood twelve months ago and which names have the most to gain.

When are the Top 100 DJs 2026 results announced?

DJ Mag has not yet confirmed the date or venue for the 2026 awards. The pattern is consistent, though: the poll closes in mid September and the winner is revealed on stage roughly two weeks later. In 2025 the ceremony took place on Tuesday 30 September at [UNVRS] in Ibiza, the first time the awards had been held on the island, with David Guetta collecting his fifth No. 1 before a two hour set. [UNVRS] has since been voted the world’s No. 1 club in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs 2026, so a return looks plausible. We will add the confirmed date here as soon as it is published, and update this page live on the night.

Who was the top techno DJ in 2025?

Charlotte de Witte. She climbed seven places to No. 9, her first time inside the top 10, and was named the World’s No. 1 Techno DJ for the sixth year in a row. It capped a season in which she became the first artist to open and close Tomorrowland‘s MainStage on the same day, playing the noon Daybreak slot and then the closing set. Anyma landed one place behind her at No. 10, also up seven, giving melodic techno a top 10 presence for the first time. Peggy Gou slipped two to No. 12, and Reinier Zonneveld broke into the top 25 at No. 22.

Which techno names moved most last year?

The 2025 count was the strongest the genre has had in the poll’s 33 year history, and the movement was almost all upward. Solomun’s 33 place jump to No. 55 was the largest of any techno artist, Indira Paganotto and Sara Landry each gained 13, and Carl Cox moved up six to No. 25 in his fourth decade on the list. Three names arrived for the first time: Boris Brejcha at No. 49, Miss Monique at No. 75 and I Hate Models at No. 79, the last of them a sign that the harder, faster end of the club has started reaching a poll that historically rewarded festival mainstages. The only techno adjacent names to drop were Peggy Gou and Deborah De Luca, both down two.

What to watch when the 2026 list lands

Three questions will decide whether 2026 is remembered as a step forward or a plateau. Can Charlotte de Witte hold a top 10 place with a debut album campaign behind her? Does Anyma’s ÆDEN tour, which sold out Printworks twice and headlined Coachella, push him past her into the highest techno position, or does the İstanbul cancellation row cut both ways? And how far can Indira Paganotto and Sara Landry travel on the hard techno wave, given both gained 13 places last time and have spent 2026 on bigger stages still. Below them, watch for Reinier Zonneveld and Boris Brejcha consolidating, and for a second wave of hard techno entries following I Hate Models through the door.

The official list appears on djmag.com and the Top 100 DJs social channels as the countdown is read out on stage, with the No. 1 revealed last. We will publish the full techno breakdown here the same night: every genre name and its position, the year on year movement and who takes the No. 1 Techno DJ title. Techno Airlines view: the poll will always tilt towards the mainstage, and no amount of underground grumbling changes that. What changed in 2025 is that the techno column stopped being a token presence. Two names in the top 10, five in the top 40 and three debuts in a single year is a trend, not a fluke. The 2026 result will show whether the audience that filled those stages all summer bothered to vote for them.
