Techno Clubs in the Netherlands

By the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs poll, the highest-placed club in the Netherlands in our guide is Shelter in Amsterdam, ranked #90 in 2026. The poll is a public vote, so big-room clubs tend to rank higher than small, strict ones.

Of the clubs in our guide in the Netherlands, Gashouder in Amsterdam holds the most people, about 3,500. The smallest is The Loft Amsterdam at around 450.

The longest-running club in the Netherlands in our guide is Supperclub in Amsterdam, open since 1993. Jimmy Woo follows, dating from 2003. Every club listed here still runs nights today.

Often not. Jimmy Woo, RADION, Lofi, BASIS, Complex Maastricht and Chicago Social Club do not allow photos inside, and some cover phone cameras with a sticker at the door. Check each club page for its own rule before you go.

Arrive sober and calm, in a small group or alone, and know who is playing. Dress plainly, usually in dark, comfortable clothes, and keep your phone away in the queue. Clubs with a selective door give no reason for a refusal, so it pays to read the door policy on each club page first.

Most techno clubs have no formal dress code, but dark, practical clothes and comfortable shoes are the safe choice. Some doors refuse suits, sportswear from groups, flags or glow wear, and a few clubs are strict about style. Each club page lists its own dress code where the club publishes one.
