About Index

Index is a house and techno club at 57 Middle Abbey Street on Dublin's Northside, in Dublin 1. It started in 2017 as a club night promoter and was previously linked with the club Here & Now. In September 2023 it opened its own two room venue in the former Opium Rooms building on Liberty Lane, and in February 2025 it moved into the Middle Abbey Street building that housed The Academy, opening with MK and Sammy Virji.

The club holds around 1,000 people, according to Resident Advisor and DJ Mag, and runs mainly Thursday to Saturday from 23:00 to 03:00. Bookings range from house and tech house names such as Ben Hemsley and Vendex to techno and trance DJs like Indira Paganotto, Eddie Halliwell and Mauro Picotto, with series such as Index x Outset. A no flash policy applies, and the cloakroom is at the top of the building by the rooftop.
