About Dangerous Goods XXL Festival

Dangerous Goods XXL comes to Sydney Showground in Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 16 January 2027, running from 2pm until late. It is the Sydney stop on the promoter’s January run of XXL festivals, which starts in Perth on 15 January and continues to Brisbane on 22 January, Melbourne on 23 January and Adelaide on 24 January. The organisers give the Sydney capacity as 15,000 to 20,000, with multiple stages, 360-degree indoor boiler-style rooms, lasers, LED walls and pyrotechnics.

Boris Brejcha leads the first phase of the line-up. The German producer has said he will stop touring in 2028, so this January run is one of the last chances to see him in Australia; we track his remaining confirmed shows here. Claptone, Darude, Neelix and Sub Zero Project join him, with Australian names including Havana Brown, Nik Kastel, Miss Jade, Ish K and Kaya. The stages split the day between techno, tech house, melodic, hard groove, hardstyle, psytrance and trance, and more acts are still to be announced.

Dangerous Goods Entertainment is a Melbourne promoter built on techno, hard techno and psytrance, and XXL is its large-format series. The event is strictly 18+ with photo ID. General admission is AUD 219.99 and the VIP On Stage ticket at AUD 379.99 adds a viewing platform behind the DJs, skip-the-line entry and merch, with small discounts for groups of two or three. Tickets are sold through Megatix. Sydney Showground sits about 15 kilometres west of the city centre, next to Olympic Park station, which makes it one of the easier big sites to reach by train. For a summer music festival in Sydney that mixes techno with the harder end of dance music, this is the January date to plan around.
