fabric opened on 29 October 1999 in the former Metropolitan Cold Stores on Charterhouse Street, directly opposite Smithfield Market in Farringdon. The club has three rooms with independent sound systems, and Room One is known for its bodysonic floor, where bass transducers under the dancefloor let the crowd feel low frequencies. Fridays mix FABRICLIVE, with drum and bass, garage and other bass music, alongside wider electronic bookings. Saturdays are mainly house, techno and electro, anchored by founding residents Craig Richards and Terry Francis, and Sundays host the Come As You Are party. fabric also runs fabric Records and a long-running mix series. Phones are stickered at the door under a zero-photo policy.

Can you leave fabric and come back in?
No. fabric does not allow re-entry, so once you leave the club you cannot come back in on the same ticket. A smoking area is open all night inside the venue, and a mezzanine above Room One is used as a break area when available.
