By the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs poll, the highest-placed club in North America in our guide is Echostage in Washington, DC, ranked #6 in 2026. Next come Club Space (#14) and The Concourse Project (#31). The poll is a public vote, so big-room clubs tend to rank higher than small, strict ones.

Of the clubs in our guide in North America, Beachclub in Pointe-Calumet holds the most people, about 6,000. The smallest is smartbar at around 400.

The longest-running club in North America in our guide is smartbar in Chicago, open since 1982. Beachclub follows, dating from 1995. Every club listed here still runs nights today.

Arrive sober and calm, in a small group or alone, and know who is playing. Dress plainly, usually in dark, comfortable clothes, and keep your phone away in the queue. Clubs with a selective door give no reason for a refusal, so it pays to read the door policy on each club page first.
