GORDO Closes His First Pacha Ibiza Residency With Roger Sanchez
The six week TARAKA run at Pacha Ibiza finishes on Tuesday 29 September, with Roger Sanchez, Gala and Abril Love joining GORDO for the closing night.
GORDO brings his first Pacha Ibiza residency to a close on Tuesday 29 September, and the final TARAKA night of the season carries the biggest name of the run. Roger Sanchez, Gala and Abril Love all join him, billed A to Z beneath the headliner.
The residency opened on 25 August and has held the Tuesday slot for six straight weeks, following a one off TARAKA night at Pacha on Friday 1 May. The closing party runs from 23:00 until 06:00. Entry starts at 30 euros before midnight and 35 euros before 1am, with general admission at 40 euros and balcony or backstage packages priced above that.
Six weeks of Tuesdays
TARAKA is the label and party series GORDO built around his own house and tech house output, the catalogue that produced “Hombres y Mujeres” and “Sideways” either side of his production work on Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind. He talked us through that shift in his 2024 interview, and the Pacha Ibiza booking is the first time the brand has been given a full season on the island rather than a single date.
The guest list across the six weeks took in Nicole Moudaber, Vintage Culture, Patrick Topping, Shimza, HoneyLuv, Wade, Alex Wann, ARODES, Manda Moor and JØRD, with Vanjee and Sacchi returning more than once. Gala, installed as the TARAKA resident for the season, played four of the six dates including the opening night and this one.
Roger Sanchez on the closing bill
Roger Sanchez is the booking that changes the shape of the night. The New York producer behind “Another Chance” has been working the island since the 1990s, and his presence pulls the closing party towards vocal house rather than the harder end of what TARAKA has programmed through September. Abril Love, one of the newer names the series has pushed this year, completes the bill with Gala.
Why this run is worth noting
A Tuesday in late September is one of the hardest slots on the Ibiza calendar to fill, and GORDO held it for six weeks in his first season as a Pacha resident. The detail worth keeping is Gala. Promoters talk constantly about developing residents and rarely follow through, so handing one artist four of six dates on a bill this size counts for something. If TARAKA comes back to the club next summer, that is the part we would expect to grow.
