Igloofest is the winter electronic music festival held outdoors on the Jacques-Cartier Pier in the Old Port of Montreal. The 2027 edition runs from 14 January to 6 February 2027, with events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights across four weekends, and the first line-up announcement is already out.

What is Igloofest?

Igloofest has run every winter since 2007 and bills itself as the coldest music festival in the world. The idea is simple: instead of hiding from the Quebec winter, thousands of people put on snowsuits and dance outside under the steel structures of the Old Port. The festival brings together local and international DJs, an ice-themed stage design, the Igloovillage with bars, food trucks and fire pits, and the Iglooswag snowsuit contest that has become part of the brand.

Montreal is the flagship, but the festival now travels. The 2027 season continues in Gatineau from 11 to 13 February, Quebec City from 4 to 6 March and Edmonton from 11 to 13 March, which turns Igloofest into a four-city winter music festival series.

When is Igloofest Montreal 2027?

The official site dates the Montreal edition from Thursday 14 January to Saturday 6 February 2027. Events run from 19:30 to 23:00 on Thursdays and from 19:30 to 00:30 on Fridays and Saturdays, so this is an evening festival rather than an all-nighter. Each night is a separate event with its own ticket.

Who is playing Igloofest 2027?

The first programme announcement, published on 21 September 2026, covers Saturday 23 January 2027 on the Sapporo Stage: Ninajirachi at 23:00, Frost Children (DJ set) at 22:00, MGNA Crrrta (DJ set) at 21:00 and Isla Den (DJ set) at 19:30. The rest of the line-up has not been announced yet, and this page will be updated as the organisers reveal each weekend.

Where is Igloofest held?

The site is the Jacques-Cartier Pier in Montreal’s Old Port, a few minutes’ walk from the Champ-de-Mars and Place-d’Armes metro stations on the orange line. The general admission area includes the Sapporo Stage, the Videotron Stage and the Igloovillage, while VIP tickets add fast entry, a terrace with a stage view, heated toilets and a heated indoor space. There are no lockers on site and backpacks are refused, so travel light and dress for the cold: hat, gloves and winter boots are on the organisers’ own packing list.

How do Igloofest tickets work?

Tickets are sold only through the official Igloofest ticketing site, in price tiers that rise as each night sells, and they are delivered digitally to your phone. The Igloopass covers every Montreal event of the season but has sold out in past years, and it is usually offered first to newsletter subscribers. Entry is 18+ and photo ID is checked at the gate.
