Best Clubs in Los Angeles 2026: Techno and House Nightclub Guide
Where to go clubbing in Los Angeles in 2026: Exchange LA, Sound, Academy LA, AVALON Hollywood, Factory 93 parties, Catch One and the best small rooms, with dates, prices and door rules.

Updated: October 2026
The best clubs in Los Angeles for techno and house in 2026 are Exchange LA in downtown’s old Stock Exchange for big techno bookings, Sound in Hollywood for house and tech house in a 600-capacity room, and Academy LA and AVALON Hollywood for weekend headliners. Factory 93, Insomniac’s techno brand, runs the city’s warehouse-style parties, and Catch One is where Das Bunker and many rave nights land. Every club below was checked against its own website and event listings between 29 September and 10 October 2026.
| Club | Area | Go for | Size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exchange LA | Historic Core, downtown | Touring techno, the Mutate series, 360 degree sets | Four floors, about 25,000 sq ft |
| Sound | Hollywood | House, tech house and techno, Thursday to Saturday | 600 |
| Academy LA | Hollywood Boulevard | Big room production, house and tech house headliners | Around 1,000 |
| AVALON Hollywood | Hollywood and Vine | Insomniac club nights in a 1927 theatre | Theatre room plus Bardot upstairs |
| Factory 93 | Boyle Heights and other venues | Warehouse techno and house parties (a promoter, not a club) | Varies by venue |
| Catch One | Arlington Heights, Pico Boulevard | Das Bunker, rave nights, queer parties | Five rooms, Disco room 1,200 |
| The Airliner | Lincoln Heights | Hi-fi room, underground DJs, free vinyl nights | Small bar and upstairs room |
| 1720 | Fashion District, downtown | Warehouse raves, many 18+ | Standing room warehouse |
Sizes come from the clubs’ own websites as recorded in the Techno Airlines club directory (checked 29 September to 1 October 2026). Most Los Angeles club nights run from 22:00 to about 03:00, but California stops alcohol sales at 2am.
Which club in Los Angeles is best for techno?

For a weekly techno night, Exchange LA is the strongest club in the city. It sits in the 1931 Los Angeles Stock Exchange building at 618 South Spring Street, a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, and opened as a club in 2010 after a renovation of nearly two years. The old trading floor is the main room, with balconies on four floors, seven bars and an LED screen that runs up four storeys.
Weekends mix EDM, trance, house and techno, but the techno side is clear in the calendar: Anfisa Letyago on 10 October, the Mutate series with Charlie Sparks on 24 October and LUCIID on 28 November, and Massano with Township Rebellion in a 360 degree set on 14 November. DJ Mag placed Exchange LA at number 48 in its Top 100 Clubs 2026 poll. Entry is 21+ with a physical ID, there is a dress code (no sportswear, tank tops, sandals, or shorts outside summer), and bags bigger than 12 x 12 x 6 inches are refused.

Is Sound still the best house club in Hollywood?

Yes, if house and tech house are what you want. Sound opened on New Year’s Eve 2012 at 1642 North Las Palmas Avenue, just off Hollywood Boulevard, and it is the most music-first room in Hollywood: one 8,000 square foot space with a sunken dancefloor, an elevated booth and a capacity of 600. DJ Mag ranked it number 86 in the Top 100 Clubs 2026.
The autumn 2026 calendar shows what it does best: Sam Alfred on 10 October, Jazzy on 16 October, Blind Tiger presents Chéchas on 22 October, a Clüb De Combat all night long on 24 October, Deep Dish on 30 October and a three-day Halloween run. Advance tickets for Deep Dish were USD 41.93 on DICE. Sound is 21+, and the smart casual dress code rules out joggers, shorts, tank tops, jerseys, slides and work boots.

Is Academy LA worth it?

It is the best pick for a production-heavy night. Academy LA is at 6021 Hollywood Boulevard, an address that was Qtopia, Vanguard and Create before the club was remodelled and relaunched in late 2017. It holds around 1,000 people over a main floor, an upstairs VIP room and two patios, and runs a Funktion-One system with 55 moving lights, 145 LED ceiling panels and CO2 cannons. It is the highest-placed Los Angeles club in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs 2026, at number 44.
The music leans to house, tech house and bass rather than strict techno. October and November dates include Oppidan on 17 October, Morten on Halloween night and a Desert Hearts all night long with Justin Martin on 14 November. Doors are Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 03:00, entry is 21+ with a physical ID that matches the name on the ticket, and the bar is cashless.

What is AVALON Hollywood like?

AVALON Hollywood is a club inside a 1927 theatre at 1735 North Vine Street, across the road from the Capitol Records Building. The building has been The Hollywood Playhouse, the El Capitan Theatre and the TV studio known as The Hollywood Palace, and took the Avalon name in 2002. The main room keeps the stage and balcony, and Bardot upstairs is a smaller 1920s styled space. DJ Mag placed AVALON at number 64 in its Top 100 Clubs 2026.
Friday and Saturday nights are presented by Insomniac under brands such as Factory 93, Dreamstate, Bassrush and Night Trip, so one weekend is techno, the next trance or bass. General entry for Petit Biscuit on 17 October was USD 28.75 to 34.50 on Resident Advisor. Club nights are 21+, doors open at 22:00, and the upscale casual dress code bans shorts, sandals, tank tops, sportswear and baseball hats.

Where does Factory 93 hold its parties?

Factory 93 is not a club. It is the underground techno and house brand of Insomniac, the company behind EDC, and it has no fixed venue: in Los Angeles it books warehouse and studio spaces and some nights at AVALON. Its autumn 2026 Los Angeles dates are both at ACE Mission Studios on South Mission Road in Boyle Heights: ANOTR on 30 October (18:00 to midnight, 21+) and Brunello Mellow Circus with Bambounou and Jax Carter in the Mission 4 space on 31 October (21:00 to 02:00).
The same ACE Mission site hosts Time Warp Los Angeles on 27 and 28 November, with Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock and Rødhåd on the bill, and Drumcode LA comes to RE:FRAME on 11 December. Factory 93 also runs dates in Denver, Washington DC and the Bay Area, so check the city on each listing before you buy.
What are Catch One and Das Bunker?

Catch One is the venue, and Das Bunker is one of the parties that uses it. The club at 4067 West Pico Boulevard opened in 1973 as Jewel’s Catch One, run by Jewel Thais-Williams, and for decades was one of the first Black discos in the United States. Since 2015 it has been owned by Steve and Mitch Edelson and now has five rooms: the Disco for 1,200 people, the Underground and Noise + Tavern for 350 each, Jewel’s Room and the Apartment. Several events often run on the same night, from Emanate playing open to close on 16 October to Rhondavous: The Ravesgiving on 25 November.
Das Bunker is a long-running industrial and goth club night rather than a techno club. Its DB30 night with Combichrist and The Treasury was at Catch One on 2 October 2026 (tickets were USD 25 on DICE), and its Halloween party on 31 October is back at Catch One. Its other dates move around the city, so follow the Das Bunker listing rather than the venue.

Which smaller clubs in Los Angeles are worth the trip?
The best small rooms are spread out, so plan a ride between them.
- The Airliner, 2419 North Broadway, Lincoln Heights. Home of the Low End Theory club night from 2006 to 2018, reopened in autumn 2023 with a wooden hi-fi room upstairs on Klipsch speakers. Fast Casual, a free vinyl night, runs on the last Tuesday of the month; BAJO with Jeremy Sole and Captain Planet plays on 16 October. 21+.
- Los Globos, 3040 West Sunset Boulevard, Silver Lake. Two floors with their own stages and a Funktion-One system downstairs; the club says it hosted the first legal rave in the United States. House and disco parties such as Rhonda sit next to reggaeton and hip hop nights. 18+ or 21+ by event.
- 1720, 1720 East 16th Street, Fashion District. A warehouse where outside promoters run raves next to punk and metal shows. Mixmag Lab Los Angeles with Sam Divine is on 7 November and a D.A.N.C.E. 10 year party with Bag Raiders, Uffie and CSS on 6 November. Tickets are online only, most raves are 18+.
- The Spotlight, 1601 North Cahuenga Boulevard, Hollywood. A bar and garden room with house DJs: Moon Boots on 17 October, a Millero open to close on 31 October and Pete Tong on 7 November. 21+, upscale dress code.
- Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, 3531 Wilshire Boulevard, Koreatown. A speakeasy-style club for disco and house; Paradisco on Saturdays is free. 21+.
What happened to the clubs in the old version of this guide?
The first version of this guide, written in early 2024, listed seven names. Sound, AVALON, Exchange LA and Academy LA are all still open and still on the list. Das Bunker and Factory 93 are still running, but both are promoters with moving venues rather than clubs, so they are now described that way. We could not confirm current club nights at Le Jardin in Hollywood from an official source in October 2026, so it has been removed.

What this guide does not cover
This is a techno and house guide, so it leaves out bottle-service lounges, hip hop clubs and venues that only host concerts. The Belasco downtown books DJ nights in its Confessional room but is mainly a live music venue. We list a club only when we could check it on its own website or event listings in autumn 2026, and Techno Airlines has no commercial relationship with any venue here. More Californian clubs are in our United States club guide, and the year’s festivals are on the US techno festivals page and in the best techno festivals in the USA in 2027.
