Frequently asked questions
What people searchWhat is the best techno club in China?
By the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs poll, the highest-placed club in China in our guide is INS LAND in Shanghai, ranked #12 in 2026. Next come PLAY X SHENZHEN (#27). The poll is a public vote, so big-room clubs tend to rank higher than small, strict ones.
Which is the biggest techno club in China?
Of the clubs in our guide in China, INS LAND in Shanghai holds the most people, about 10,000. The smallest is GONG (工) at around 300.
What is the oldest club in China that is still open?
The longest-running club in China in our guide is NU Lab Chengdu in Chengdu, open since 2005. Dada Beijing follows, dating from 2012. Every club listed here still runs nights today.
How do you get into a strict techno club?
Arrive sober and calm, in a small group or alone, and know who is playing. Dress plainly, usually in dark, comfortable clothes, and keep your phone away in the queue. Clubs with a selective door give no reason for a refusal, so it pays to read the door policy on each club page first.
What should you wear to a techno club?
Most techno clubs have no formal dress code, but dark, practical clothes and comfortable shoes are the safe choice. Some doors refuse suits, sportswear from groups, flags or glow wear, and a few clubs are strict about style. Each club page lists its own dress code where the club publishes one.
