About Necropolis Festival
Necropolis Festival takes over The Old Church in Stoke Newington on Saturday 31 October 2026, a daytime Halloween rave running from 4pm to 11pm in what is the only remaining Elizabethan church in London. The historic cemetery sits immediately outside, which is the point: the promoters programme the night to play off the building rather than against it.
Arrosa, Ricardo Castro and Leviminks lead the bill, with more still to be announced, across darkwave, dark disco, EBM, hypnotic techno and industrial techno. Gothic dress is encouraged. The name comes from the Ancient Greek nekropolis, meaning city of the dead, which tells you how seriously the promoter Khoinix takes the theme.
The Old Church owes its origins to William Patten, the sixteenth century Lord of the Manor of Stoke Newington, who rebuilt the derelict parish church in 1563. The date and the motto ab alto, meaning from above, are still visible over the main door. Tickets were 25 pounds and sold out, with a notification list open for returns, and entry is 18 and over. The organisers publish a clear policy against racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and harassment of any kind. Stoke Newington Church Street is a short walk from Stoke Newington station. It is the most atmospheric Halloween music festival room in London.
