About KOKO

KOKO is a live music venue and club at 1a Camden High Street, opposite Mornington Crescent station in north London. The Grade II listed building opened in 1901 as the Camden Theatre and later became the Camden Hippodrome, a BBC studio, The Music Machine and, from 1982, the Camden Palace, before it reopened as KOKO in 2004. It closed in 2019 for a three year restoration and reopened on 28 April 2022.

The former theatre holds up to 1,410 people standing across the floor and several tiers of balconies. Its own club brand, KOKO Electronic, launched in 2022 and runs Friday and Saturday nights from 22:00 to 05:00, with house, tech house, afro house and techno DJs such as Green Velvet, Michael Bibi and Hernan Cattaneo in the AW26 season. On other nights KOKO hosts live concerts. Behind the theatre sit The House of KOKO members' club and Cafe KOKO, which serves pizza during club nights.

KOKO Electronic nights are strictly 19+, with no ID, no entry: only original passports, photocard driving licences, national ID cards or PASS cards are accepted. Body and bag searches are a condition of entry, bags larger than A4 are refused, there is no re-entry and smart glasses may not be worn inside.
