Defqon.1 returns to Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen on 24, 25, 26 and 27 June 2027, keeping the four day weekend format that Q-dance settled on after the event grew out of its single day origins. The Flevoland site, a theme park surrounded by open polder land, has hosted the festival for most of its life and gives it the layout it is known for: a bowl shaped main area facing the RED stage, with the rest of the areas ringed around the campsite.

The festival is the largest hardstyle event in the world by attendance and is built as much around its closing ceremony as around its bill. The Endshow on the Sunday night, a scripted combination of fireworks, pyrotechnics, water screens and a narrated storyline, is the moment the weekend is planned towards, and Q-dance publishes it in full afterwards. Each year is anchored by an official anthem, with D-Sturb featuring E-Life providing Sacred Oath for the 2026 edition.

Across the weekend the programme spans hardstyle, raw hardstyle, hardcore, uptempo, freestyle and frenchcore over more than a dozen stages, which is a wider spread of the harder styles than any other music festival attempts in a single site. Camping runs from the Thursday and is effectively part of the ticket for most visitors, with its own stages and daytime programming. The 2027 line-up has not been announced yet. Entry is restricted to people aged 18 and over, and tickets are sold through Q-dance, with members of the Q-dance Network given priority access to sales.
