Subsonic Music Festival returns to Riverwood Downs at Monkerai, New South Wales, on 13 to 15 November 2026. The camping event sits beside the Karuah River in the Barrington Tops region, and the organisers have confirmed the dates under the theme “In November the cicada awakes”. Subsonic Music, the Sydney label and events group founded by DJ Scott Commens, runs the gathering on Worimi Country and first staged it in 2009.

Over its history Subsonic has grown from a psytrance and dub weekend into a broad electronic music festival that also programmes house, techno, hip hop and progressive sounds. Past editions have featured artists such as James Holden, DJ Kentaro, Wolf + Lamb, Factory Floor and Mike Huckaby. Resident Advisor placed the event on its top November and December festivals list in 2014, and the festival has kept a capacity of around 5,000 across its riverside site.

The 2026 edition runs across three days with camping, art installations and multiple stages set among bushland. Tickets are sold through the official Eventbrite listing, with early prices starting at about AUD 314. The full 2026 line-up had not been published at the time of writing, and the site remains in its save the date phase. The venue address is 311 Monkerai Road, reached by road from Sydney and Newcastle through the Hunter region.
