About Civic Underground
Civic Underground is the basement club of the Civic Hotel at 388 Pitt Street in the Sydney CBD. Formerly known as the Civic Theatre, it runs as a boutique club and event space for up to 350 people. A strip of red light runs along the bar beside a row of white booths, the ceiling holds 26 LED panels that change colour, and the sunken dancefloor looks up at a stage with curtains and a movable DJ console. The room hosts promoter-run club nights, and its 2026 programme included Sunset Project with Paul Deep, VOID with Jock, Shook and Pitch Control with Tape B, and Sound of Journey with Anyasa. The Civic Hotel belongs to the Sydney pub group Universal Hotels and trades daily until 4am.
