This Is Louie Vega Playlist on Spotify

Some DJs play records. Others keep a culture alive, and this is one of them. This Is Louie Vega is Spotify’s essential-tracks playlist for Louie Vega, curated by the platform’s editors. It is a deep dive into the catalogue of a DJ who has shaped the house scene for decades.

Expect “Seven Mile (feat. Moodymann)”, the Roots Mix of “Golden Lady”, the eight-minute “Elements Of Life” and a Vintage Culture remix of “Let It Go”. Kenny Dope, Masters At Work, Brian Jackson and Anane join in. The mix of classic collaborations and modern remixes shows how relevant the sound still is.

It is soulful, percussive and deeply musical, the kind of house that fills a room with warmth. Good for long dinners, Sunday sessions and classic dancefloor nights. There are 50 tracks over a full 4 hours 55 minutes. Give it time, because these tracks are built to breathe and develop slowly.

Soul, rhythm and a dancefloor family.
