About Electronic Music Days
Electronic Music Days runs at the Greek National Opera’s Alternative Stage in Athens from 17 to 27 February 2027, a ten day festival dedicated to the landscape of electronic music. A national opera house programming a dedicated electronic festival is unusual anywhere, and it says something about how the form is now treated in Greece.
The Alternative Stage is the Greek National Opera’s experimental venue inside the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, the Renzo Piano designed complex on the coast at Faliro. The programme sits between concert and club formats, which is what a ten day run in an opera house allows.
Tickets are sold through the Greek National Opera. The SNFCC is around 20 minutes from central Athens by bus or tram, with a free shuttle from Syntagma, and Athens International is 45 minutes away. Late February in Athens is mild, around 15 degrees, with the city quiet before the spring. The building and its park are worth the visit on their own. For an institutional electronic music festival, this is a rare proposition.
