About Catch One
Catch One is a nightclub and concert venue at 4067 West Pico Boulevard in the Arlington Heights neighbourhood of Los Angeles. It opened in 1973 as Jewel's Catch One, run by Jewel Thais-Williams, and for decades was one of the first Black discos in the United States and the main Black gay dance bar in Los Angeles, with performers such as Sylvester, Donna Summer and Madonna passing through. In November 2015 it was bought by Steve and Mitch Edelson, briefly renamed The Union, and later returned to the Catch One name. The building now has five event spaces: the Disco for 1,200 people, the Underground and Noise + Tavern for 350 each, Jewel's Room for 275 and the Apartment for 155. Several events often run on the same night, from DJ parties and rave nights to concerts.
Door policy
From the club's own rulesMinimum age depends on the event. Dress code is casual to dressy casual: no open-toe shoes and nothing that could be used as a weapon, such as large chains or sharp jewellery. Only small purses allowed, and they are searched.
