About The White Hotel

The White Hotel is an independent arts venue and nightclub on Dickinson Street in Salford, in a white-brick unit that was once an MOT garage. It stands on an industrial estate close to HMP Manchester. It began in 2015 when Ben Ward, who ran the SWAYS Records label next door, started putting on gigs in the empty unit, and it takes its name from D. M. Thomas' 1981 novel. The room holds about 250 people and is known for experimental electronic music, techno and new bands, having hosted Damo Suzuki, William Basinski and Andy Weatherall's last DJ set. The team also runs the record label HEAD II. In May 2026 the club announced that it will close for good in January 2027, and its final season includes Miss Kittin, Nathan Fake, Gold Panda and Pye Corner Audio.
