About Sankeys
Sankeys is back in Manchester in a new club on Sidney Street in Chorlton-on-Medlock, which held its opening party on 26 September 2026. The name goes back to Sankeys Soap, opened in June 1994 by Andy Spiro and Rupert Campbell in Ancoats and revived in 2000 by David Vincent and Sacha Lord. That club focused on underground house and techno, was voted number one in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs poll in 2010 and closed for good in January 2017, after its building was sold to be turned into apartments.
The relaunch, announced in November 2025, is led by David Vincent with new partners William Gregory and Jason Jennings. Nights run on Saturdays from 23:00 to 04:00 under names such as Sankeys Saturdays and Tribal Sessions, with house and tech house DJs including Richy Ahmed, Darius Syrossian and Seb Zito on the autumn 2026 programme. The club has a strict no phones policy with stickers over cameras, offers no VIP, admits over 18s only and stops admitting ticket holders at 01:00.
