About Pangea
Pangea returns to Touws River in the Karoo from 22 to 25 October 2026, four days and eight dancefloors in the semi desert interior of South Africa’s Western Cape. The 2026 edition is themed Soft Earth, with the organisers framing it as a year to turn towards the ground and slow down, and every workshop on the programme is included in the ticket price.
The Karoo setting is the defining feature. Touws River sits in a wide arid basin around two hours north east of Cape Town, surrounded by open scrub and mountain ranges with almost no light pollution, which is why the festival runs its floors through the night and into the morning. Eight separate areas spread the programme across psytrance, techno, house and downtempo alongside the workshop strand.
Tickets are sold through AirDosh, the South African ticketing and cashless platform, with the organisers publishing site, camping and travel information through their own channels. Cape Town International is the nearest airport, with the drive out on the N1 through the Hex River valley. Days in the Karoo in October are hot and nights are cold. It is the South African music festival with the most committed following.
