Boomtown (Winchester, United Kingdom) 2027

Boomtown 2027 takes place from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 August 2027 at the Matterley Estate near Winchester in Hampshire. The festival calls this edition Chapter Six, with the title “Wild Style”, and tickets are already on sale on the official website. The line-up has not been announced yet.

What is Boomtown?

Boomtown is a five-day festival built as a fictional city. Instead of a single main field with a few tents, the site is split into themed districts such as Metropolis, Old Town, Botanica, Copperwood Heights and Area 404, each with its own set design, characters and stages. The official website describes it as a festival with 12 main stages, more than 50 hidden venues and “one secret lineup”.

The festival tells a continuing story. The current cycle started with Chapter One: The Gathering in 2022, followed by The Twin Trail (2023), Revolution of Imagination (2024), Power of Now (2025) and Radical Redesign (2026). The first ten chapters, from 2009 to 2019, are filed on the official history page as Book One.

Who will play Boomtown 2027?

No 2027 names have been published. Boomtown usually releases its line-up in waves during the spring, so check the official line-up page before you plan your days.

The 2026 edition gives a good idea of the range. The Lion’s Den hosted Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Andy C, Shy FX, Faithless, Scooter and Kneecap, Four Tet recorded a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix on site, and Marlon Hoffstadt played the Hydro XL stage. For club music fans the strongest areas are the dance stages in the districts and the late night venues hidden around the woods, where drum and bass, techno, house and bass music run long after the headliners finish.

How much are Boomtown 2027 tickets?

Tickets are sold through the official Boomtown ticket page. In October 2026 it listed a Wednesday Entry Ticket at £440 and a Thursday Entry Ticket at £370, plus cheaper Public Transport tickets (£385 for Wednesday entry, £315 for Thursday entry) for people who arrive by coach or train. Instalment plans are available, and glamping, camper van passes and other upgrades are sold separately. Prices change by sales phase, so check the official page.

Boomtown is an over 18s event.

Where is Boomtown and how do you get there?

The festival is held at the Matterley Estate, a working dairy farm at the western edge of the South Downs National Park, close to Winchester. The site uses the natural amphitheatre of the valley, the woodland around it and the surrounding fields, so expect a lot of walking and bring proper boots. The organisers send exact routing information with each ticket, and the public transport tickets are the cheaper way in.

If you are planning a whole summer of UK festivals, We Out Here in Dorset starts a few days later, Lost Village and Creamfields close August, and Terminal V Glasgow runs in June. Every upcoming date is on our techno festivals calendar.
