About Digital

Digital is a nightclub and live music venue at Times Square in Newcastle city centre, next to Newcastle Central Station. It sits inside the International Centre for Life complex. The club's own history says it was opened in 2005 by Aaron Mellor. It built its name on house, techno, trance and drum and bass, with long-running nights such as Shindig and guests including Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Jamie Jones, Dixon and Bicep. DJ Mag noted that it was one of the first UK clubs to install a Funktion-One Dancestack and gave its capacity as 1,200.

In summer 2024 the venue was refurbished with a new sound system and lighting, a custom-built stage and new VIP areas, so it now hosts gigs as well as club nights. The autumn 2026 programme includes Heavy House Society with Sidney Charles, Bushbaby all night long, inU with Guy J and Jeremy Olander, and Luke Dean b2b MJ Cole b2b Lucas Alexander, alongside themed day parties. Digital was ranked in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs every year from 2019 to 2023.
