Awakenings ADE 2026: Your Guide to Amsterdam Dance Event’s Techno Week

Awakenings brings eight shows to Sugarfactory as Amsterdam Dance Event marks 30 years from 21 to 25 October 2026. A night by night techno guide.

Amsterdam becomes techno’s undisputed capital every October, and the 2026 edition of Amsterdam Dance Event arrives bigger than ever as the festival marks its 30th year from 21 to 25 October. At the centre of the techno programme sits Awakenings, which has booked eight shows across five nights at Sugarfactory in Halfweg. Here is how the week shapes up, and how to plan around it.

The clearest signal of what awaits is Adam Beyer’s Drumcode takeover, the Thursday anchor of Awakenings ADE 2026. His Awakenings x Drumcode set from the 2024 edition is a fair preview of the room’s intensity.

Across the five nights, Awakenings threads a run of headline residencies through one venue. The night by night shape looks like this.

The Awakenings anchor

Thursday belongs to Beyer’s Drumcode, with Enrico Sangiuliano back to back with Ilario Alicante and Kevin de Vries alongside. Friday hands the room to Joseph Capriati’s Metamorfosi, joined by The Martinez Brothers and Simon Kidzoo, before a deeper late set with Ben Klock. Saturday is the marquee double: Joris Voorn’s Trip To Galaxy, featuring Jeff Mills, rolls into Adriatique playing all night long. Prospa closes the weekend on Sunday. For anyone tracking the Awakenings festival October calendar, this is the densest cluster of the year.

The wider ADE picture

Awakenings is one strand of a very large week. Amsterdam Dance Event 2026 spreads more than a thousand events across roughly 300 venues, with the ADE Pro conference running 21 to 24 October and Jean-Michel Jarre headlining the opening concert at AFAS Live. The scale is why the city, rather than any single festival, becomes the story every autumn.

Planning notes

Two things to know before you book. Sugarfactory sits in Halfweg, just west of the centre, so factor in the short trip from the city’s club district. And demand is already visible: both Sunday shows are marked sold out, so single tickets for the strongest nights will move quickly once ADE week draws closer.

Techno Airlines view: ADE is the clearest proof that techno’s centre of gravity is a calendar date, not a permanent address. For five nights the whole scene points at one city, and Awakenings has quietly become its heartbeat.
