The Walking Bass Festival (Marseille, France) 2026

The Walking Bass Festival returns to Marseille on 30 and 31 October 2026, two nights across two venues under a post apocalyptic framing the organisers have run since the festival started. The 2026 edition is themed around survival: two nights, two zones, one rule, which is to keep going to the end.

The Friday takes the Salle des Sucres at La Plateforme, where twelve collectives meet in six head to head confrontations with no breaks and no rules, each crew defending its own style. The Saturday moves to the Parc Chanot, the city’s exhibition park, for two stages running hard techno, hard music, drum and bass, trance, tekno and bouncy through the night. That split, a collective battle followed by a large scale main event, is unusual and gives the weekend a clear shape.

The festival publishes a full aftermovie for each edition under its own theme name, from Psychiatric Nightmare in 2023 through Devil’s Call in 2024 to The Death Game in 2025. Tickets are sold through the official site, which also carries a hotel finder for the festival area. Marseille has its own airport and is three hours from Paris on the TGV. For hard dance in the south of France, it is the music festival that goes hardest.
