About Artheater

Artheater has been part of Cologne's cultural life since 1998 at Ehrenfeldgürtel 127 in Ehrenfeld, combining a club, a concert hall and a stage under one roof. It is open almost every day, and the programme runs from jazz and band concerts to comedy, theatre, readings and the long-running Monday open stage Kunst gegen Bares, where acts such as AnnenMayKantereit played early on. Weekend club nights are a fixed part of Cologne nightlife, with series such as Aura, TagX, Bergwacht, Lichtblick, 303, Neondreams, N8schicht, Connected and the queer night Backstage Diaries covering techno, trance, house and harder sounds, often on two floors. In 2024 the venue's area was protected as a cultural space zone and Artheater bought the neighbouring plot at Ehrenfeldgürtel 129 to expand. It has won the Green Club Award several times.
