“Pusher”: the first instrumental preview

“Pusher” went live on streaming services on 29 October 2026, the same day as the album announcement. It runs just over seven minutes and sits at track 18 of the digital edition. Gesaffelstein and Justice had never recorded together before, despite nearly two decades on the same Paris circuit, so this is a first for both camps. The track is dark electro built on a slow, insistent pulse, closer to the mood of a night mission than to the stadium synths of Justice’s own albums.

Two weeks earlier, on 15 October, Rockstar had used the launch trailer to reveal Justice as the score’s composers and to debut “Flower in a Hurricane”. That song, with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, reached number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100, the first time Justice have charted there as a lead artist, and number 34 at US alternative radio. It appears on both the Original Score (track 36 of the digital edition) and the separate Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.

Tracklist: what is and is not known

The full tracklist has not been announced yet. Apple Music lists the digital album as 50 numbered tracks, but only two titles are visible before release: “Pusher” at 18 and “Flower in a Hurricane” at 36. Rockstar’s own description talks about 30 tracks on the physical editions and “several bonus digital tracks”, which accounts for the gap between 30 and 50. Expect the remaining titles closer to 11 December.

Xavier de Rosnay has described the brief in broad terms: “The scope of the game is so large geographically and thematically that it was clear from the beginning the music would also have to be very broad in terms of emotions, genres, and textures. We were given the freedom to explore as many things as we needed to, musically speaking.” Rockstar says the score is tuned to game events and reacts to how players move through the state of Leonida, so what ends up on the album is a fixed edit of music that behaves differently in play.

Score, album, radio: three layers of GTA VI music

It is easy to mix up the three music products attached to this game, so here is the split.

  • Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score (11 December, Because Music / Ed Banger / Rockstar). Justice’s composed music, the pieces that play under missions and story moments rather than on the car radio.
  • Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album (19 November, Atlantic Records and Rockstar). 34 original songs by other artists, announced on 17 September. Our earlier piece on the electronic names on the GTA 6 soundtrack covers Fred again.., Jayda G, Étienne de Crécy and Daft Punk‘s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo on that record.
  • In-game radio. Rockstar revealed the first six stations on 8 October: Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber 106.6, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics. Dance and electronic categories were listed but no electronic station has been named yet. New for the series, radio and podcasts also play through earbuds while on foot.

Why Justice, and where Gesaffelstein fits

Justice arrive at this job from the strongest stretch of their career. Hyperdrama, their fourth album, came out in April 2024 on Ed Banger and Because; its opener “Neverender” with Tame Impala won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Recording in February 2025. The 21-month Hyperdrama tour, which included a stage-closing Coachella set and US arenas, ended with three Australian arena shows in December 2025. Their only confirmed 2026 live date is a DJ set at Simifest in Mexico City on 5 December, six days before the score drops.

Gesaffelstein (Mike Lévy, from Lyon) has a longer history with Rockstar than most listeners realise: his remix of The Hacker’s “Shockwave” was on the Soulwax FM station in Grand Theft Auto V in 2013. Since then he has co-produced “Black Skinhead” and “Send It Up” on Kanye West’s Yeezus alongside Daft Punk, released three albums (Aleph, Hyperion, Gamma) and, in February 2026, won the Grammy for Best Remixed Recording for his rework of Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra”. “Pusher” is the first time his name and Justice’s share a credit line.
