Berghain Fünfzehn | Luke Slater Playlist on Spotify

Here, a techno veteran remixes an entire label’s history. Berghain Fünfzehn | Luke Slater comes from Ostgut Ton: Luke Slater created a mix by sampling the entire Ostgut Ton catalogue, composing all new tracks and mixing them together. The idea is unusual: a techno producer working through a label’s full back catalogue and turning it into new material.

Marcel Dettmann, Tobias, Ben Klock, Marcel Fengler, Nick Höppner, Barker & Baumecker, Planetary Assault Systems and Steffi feature most. Sample tracks: “Barrier” by Marcel Dettmann, “Untitled 3” by Pom Pom, “Distance” by Substance and “Napoleon Hill – Original Mix” by Ben Klock.

The sound is raw, dark and relentless Berlin techno, made for late nights, headphones and focused work. This is a big 100+ track collection with more than 11 hours of music. Short, sharp tracks and long stretches of tension make it a serious listen rather than background music.

Berlin techno, sampled from its own history.
