About Rainbow Spirit Festival
Rainbow Spirit returns to Glenaroua in central Victoria from 5 to 8 March 2027, four days on Taungurung country around 90 minutes north of Melbourne. The organisers describe a new form emerging, with each gathering a stepping stone shaped by community, dance, art and connection.
The festival succeeds Rainbow Serpent, which ran at Lexton for over two decades and was one of the defining Australian bush festivals before it ended. Rainbow Spirit carries that lineage forward in a different place and under a different name, with the Horizon Stage among its spaces.
The organisers acknowledge the Taungurung people as traditional custodians of the land, and the Dja Dja Wurrung and Wadawurrung peoples alongside them, and the festival is supported by the Live Music Festival Fund. Details and tickets are published through the festival’s own site. Glenaroua is around 90 minutes north of Melbourne by road and 40 minutes from Seymour, which is on the rail line. For an Australian bush music festival, Rainbow Spirit carries the deepest history.
