The Bongo Club is a nightclub and live venue at 66 Cowgate in Edinburgh's Old Town, running since 1996. It is owned by the local arts charity Out of the Blue, which lets it put underground music and community use ahead of profit. The venue has a main performance space with a stage, holding 300 standing, plus an upstairs room, each with its own bar and sound system, a downstairs bar and a smoking garden at the back. Weekend club nights are run by long-standing residencies: Pulse and EPiKA for techno, electro and house, Club_Nacht x Hobbes Music for house and garage, Overground for jungle, hardcore and rave sounds, Disorder for drum and bass, and Messenger Sound System for dub and reggae. Past guests include Jeff Mills, Ben UFO, Four Tet, Surgeon and Optimo.
