About Robert Johnson

Robert Johnson is a club at Nordring 131 in Offenbach am Main, next to Frankfurt, named after the blues musician Robert Johnson. Ata Macias and Sebastian Kahrs opened it in 1999 on the initiative of the artist Heiner Blum, and the first resident DJs included Ata, Heiko M/S/O and Andrew Weatherall. Guests climb a staircase rather than go down to a basement: upstairs, the bar, dancefloor and sound system share one room, with a terrace outside, and the furniture is regularly rearranged between parties.

The music is house and techno. Regular nights are Electric Friday and Lifesaver Saturday, both starting at 23:59, and autumn 2026 bookings include Fatboy Slim, Ricardo Villalobos, Rhadoo and an all-night set from Gerd Janson and Thomas Hammann. Since 2009 the club has run the label Live At Robert Johnson, with Flo Reinke (Horkheimer) as curator. Robert Johnson placed third in Groove's 2017 readers' poll and was listed in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs eight times between 2008 and 2018.
