About Airport Würzburg

Airport is a nightclub in the east of Würzburg, in the hall of a former wholesale market at Gattingerstraße 17. It opened in October 1983 styled as an airport terminal, with the DJ booth built as a cockpit, and a year later the Rockpalast opened in the other half of the hall. Techno arrived early, first in the smaller Noise Club and then in the main room, and DJs such as Sven Väth, Paul van Dyk and Carl Cox played here. After a six-month spell on the Loveboat in 1994, the club returned to its old site in 1995 without the airport decor. Today the main T1 room and the Soundpark, in the former Rockpalast, open on Fridays and Saturdays with techno residents, hip-hop, techno classics and student parties. Airport has hosted its own area at the Nature One festival for more than 20 years.
