About objekt klein a
objekt klein a is a collectively run club at Meschwitzstraße 9 in the Industriegelände, the old industrial estate in the north of Dresden. The team began renovating a derelict site in 2015 and opened the club in 2017, building it almost entirely by themselves. It has a 130 square metre main floor, Groß A, and a 90 square metre bar room, klein a, with coloured industrial glass windows, linked by a light well around a large kiln left from the former VEB Funkwerk factory. In summer a planked outdoor area of over 500 square metres, the Palais Palett, adds a bar and two stages. Nights centre on techno and house from a large pool of local residents, alongside concerts, comedy, theatre and talks. The supporting association has received institutional funding from the City of Dresden since 2021.
