About GRASSROOTS

GRASSROOTS is a club at 1-6-12 Koenji-Minami in Suginami, Tokyo, run by GRASSROOTS TRIBE, whose site dates the project back to 1997. It opens from 20:00 to midnight on Tuesday to Thursday, and from 23:00 until sunrise on Fridays and Saturdays, and is closed on Sundays, Mondays and national holidays. The programme is posted on the club's schedule blog and covers house, techno and leftfield DJ nights alongside beat, dub, jazz and experimental sets, with regular parties such as M's Room, RETREAT, S.O.S and ii guragura!!. Guests in September 2026 included the producer Till Yawuh, and some events add food stalls. The club asks visitors to keep noise down outside, not to bring their own drinks and to look after their own belongings.
