Peggy Gou is having one of those summers where her name turns up everywhere at once: a new single climbing playlists, a headline slot at one of Italy’s biggest electronic festivals, and a run of tabloid gossip she has said nothing about. The short answer: Peggy Gou is a South Korean DJ, producer and songwriter, born Kim Min-ji in Incheon on 3 July 1991, which makes her 35. She is based in Berlin and has been a fixture of European club culture for the best part of a decade, listed by most profiles at around 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 7, roughly 168 to 170 cm. She studied in London, moved into fashion, then pivoted hard into music, becoming the first Korean artist to play Berlin’s Berghain.
Her rise is easy to trace through the records. She broke through on Radio Slave’s Rekids label in 2016, launched her own imprint Gudu Records in 2019, and turned “(It Goes Like) Nanana” into a genuine crossover hit in 2023. Next comes the live moment. Panorama Festival returns to Puglia from 14 to 16 August, at Cave del Duca near Lecce, with Gou billed alongside Solomun, Mochakk, Mau P and a stacked cast of house and techno names. It is the kind of open-air, sunset-into-night bill her sound was built for.
The third strand is the one she has ignored on purpose. Gou was photographed in Ibiza with tennis player Matteo Berrettini in early July, and the sighting set off a round of romance speculation neither has addressed. We will leave that where they left it.
