Strandgut Festival (Eckernfoerde, Germany) 2027

Strandgut Festival returns to the Suedstrand in Eckernfoerde on 24 July 2027, running a single day of electronic music on the white sand of the Eckernfoerde bay on the German Baltic coast. The site is an ordinary public beach for the rest of the summer, lined with the wicker Strandkorb chairs and fish huts that define the Schleswig-Holstein seaside, and the festival takes it over for one day without building a conventional arena.

The format is deliberately simple: one day, a beach, and a bill built around house and techno with a strong share of northern German acts. The organisers lean on the setting rather than scale, and the festival has become a fixture of the Kiel and Flensburg summer. Eckernfoerde sits about 30 kilometres north west of Kiel on the Baltic, with a direct regional train from Kiel taking under half an hour and Hamburg around two hours away. The town is a holiday resort in its own right, so accommodation books up across July and is worth securing early. The 2027 line up had not been announced at the time of writing. For a day on the sand rather than in a field, it is a distinctive northern German music festival.
