About NYX Festival (Far North Queensland (near Cairns), Australia)
NYX Festival returns to Ravenshoe near Cairns from 18 to 21 June 2027, timed for the winter solstice in far north Queensland. The organisers bill it as Australia’s up and coming underground arts, music and culture experience in the tropics.
The programme runs well beyond music: decor and installations, market stalls, performers and workshops all have their own place on the site, with early entry, powered camping and glamping available alongside standard camping and a festival bus.
Tickets are sold through Triniq. Ravenshoe is the highest town in Queensland, on the Atherton Tablelands around 90 minutes inland and up from Cairns, which takes direct flights from across Australia and parts of Asia. Late June in the tablelands is dry and mild at around 22 degrees in the day and genuinely cold at night, which is what the solstice timing is built around. For an Australian tropical music festival, NYX is the far north one.
