About Forbidden Forest
Forbidden Forest returns to Belvoir Castle near Grantham from 28 to 30 May 2027, with the organisers repeating the line that has carried the festival for years: once again, the forest calls your name. The woodland setting on the castle estate is the whole proposition.
Belvoir is a Regency gothic house on the Leicestershire and Lincolnshire border with 15,000 acres around it, and the festival uses the woods rather than the lawns, which gives the stages tree cover and the site a character no field can produce. The organisers also run a residents programme.
Tickets are sold through the festival’s own site. Grantham is an hour and ten from London King’s Cross on the direct train and 20 minutes from the castle, with East Midlands Airport an hour away. Late May in the east midlands is mild at around 17 degrees with long evenings. Official films exist for the 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions. For a British woodland music festival, Forbidden Forest is the bank holiday one.
