Boardmasters (Newquay, United Kingdom) 2027

Boardmasters returns to Cornwall from 4 to 8 August 2027, five days split between a cliff top site above Watergate Bay and the surf competitions on Fistral Beach in Newquay. The Watergate Bay site carries the music arenas, around ten stages and the official campsite, while Fistral hosts the professional surfing, BMX and skateboarding programme that the event grew out of.

The festival began in 1981 as a surf contest and added live music in 2005, a hybrid that still defines it. Daytime hours run on competition heats, beach sessions and skate finals; evenings move to the clifftop arenas. Capacity was raised to 58,000 in 2024, making it one of the larger UK summer events, and it is owned and run by Vision Nine. The Boardmasters Foundation, set up in 2017, channels funds back into Cornish causes.

Past headliners have included Gorillaz, The 1975, Foals, Kings of Leon, Florence and the Machine and Liam Gallagher, with Raye, Central Cee and The Prodigy leading the 2025 bill. Alongside the main stages the site carries a dance programme that runs late into the night. The 2027 lineup had not been announced at the time of writing, though tiered camping tickets went on sale shortly after the 2026 edition closed.
