About Gut Level

Gut Level is a queer-led, not-for-profit DIY venue, bar and community space at 32-34 Chapel Walk in Sheffield city centre, run by Gut Level Ltd. It was set up in response to a lack of club-ready DIY spaces in the city and works as a members' club that anyone over 18 can join for as little as GBP 2 a year. The venue is spread over two floors with a roof terrace that houses its community garden, Wet Patch. The programme runs from club nights and gigs to DJ workshops for underrepresented groups, co-working, folk sessions and communal meals, and artists and DJs are paid equally regardless of following. Profits from the bar and events fund workshops and equipment access. In 2022 it won the Cultural Vibrancy award at the Sheffield Business Awards.
