About Bassfest

Bassfest Summer Festival returns to Sheffield on 17 and 18 July 2027, taking over the open air Don Valley Bowl in the north east of the city for a second consecutive weekend day. The event is one of the largest outdoor bass music gatherings in the north of England, built around drum and bass, bassline, house, jungle and UK hardcore rather than a single headline genre.

Recent editions have carried more than 100 artists across multiple stages, with pyrotechnics, large format production and crowds approaching 20,000 across the weekend. The Don Valley Bowl is a natural amphitheatre built into the Lower Don Valley, which gives the main arena a steep grass bank facing the stage and keeps sightlines usable even at the back. Sheffield city centre sits roughly three miles away and the Supertram network runs to the site, which is why the organisers push public transport over parking.

Bassfest has been staged in Sheffield since 2017 and marked its tenth edition in 2026, growing from a city centre club brand into a two day outdoor event run by Organised Chaos Events. Past bills have drawn names including Fisher, CamelPhat, Gorgon City, Darkzy and Aitch, which places it between a pure underground weekender and a mainstream summer festival. The 2027 lineup had not been published at the time of writing. Dates for the rest of the summer season are collected on our music festival calendar.
