About Gretchen
Gretchen is a live music venue and club at Obentrautstraße 19-21 in Berlin-Kreuzberg, founded in 2011 by Pamela Schobeß and Lars Döring. There are two floors, Box1 and Box2, plus a small outdoor area, the Gretchen Yard. The programme runs from bass, drum and bass, dubstep and electronica to hip-hop, soul and jazz, with concerts most evenings and club nights after midnight such as 30 Years Recycle on 10 October 2026, What So Not with DJ Spinn and Deep Medi. Gretchen has won the federal APPLAUS award several times, including the main prize for best live music programme in 2023.
