About Renate

Renate, long known as Salon zur Wilden Renate, is a club in an old unrenovated apartment house at Alt-Stralau 70 in Friedrichshain, near the Elsenbrücke. It began in 2007, when a group of open-air party makers looking for storage space found the empty building and slowly turned its flats into a club, with rooms such as the Green, Red and Black floors, plus a large garden. Weekend Klubnacht parties start around midnight and often run into the next afternoon, with techno, house and a wide range of dance music from local DJs and crews. After a long fight over its lease, the club signed a new ten-year contract in December 2025, set up a new operating company, renovated the Green floor with a new sound system and a performance stage, and fully reopened in April 2026. It added Renate LIVE Thursdays with bands and performances, while the garden hosts free open airs.

Tickets are sold on Resident Advisor and at the door, but an RA ticket does not guarantee entry (it is refunded if you are turned away). The club is fully cashless, card only, and asks for a space free of racism, sexism and homophobia.
