About CTM Festival
CTM holds its twenty eighth edition in Berlin from 22 to 31 January 2027, ten days of adventurous music and related arts. CTM has run since 1999 and is one of the few festivals anywhere that functions as much as a research platform as a programme of concerts.
The structure reflects that. Alongside the performances CTM runs the Resynthesising the Traditional artistic lab, a Research Networking Day and a series of open calls for artists and researchers, with the festival theme announced in late June each year ahead of the programme itself.
Early bird festival passes are released ahead of the full line up, sold through the festival’s own site. CTM runs across venues throughout Berlin, traditionally in partnership with transmediale, and the January timing places it in the quietest and coldest part of the Berlin year when the city’s attention is undivided. Berlin is served by BER with connections across Europe and beyond. For an experimental music festival, CTM is the most intellectually serious in Europe.
