DJ SHARE (Sharon Pieksma) is on a mission, and not just to make you dance. The Ibiza-based DJ and producer is on the rise with high-energy sets that flow from deep house to organic and melodic techno. Whether she’s playing a dusty sunrise set at Burning Man or releasing music on labels like Crosstown Rebels and Abracadabra, one thing’s clear; SHARE’s music is as intentional as it is infectious.
Rooted in Electronic Music
Her sound may be rooted in electronic music (she first started out playing minimal house), but SHARE’s inspirations are beautifully diverse. “At home, I listen to a lot of downtempo”, she says, citing anything by Thievery Corporation and Moby’s “Porcelain” as long-time favorites. “Sometimes even spiritual mantras. My playlists are all over the place, in a good way.”
That wide palette of influence shows up in her productions, which are layered, yet always danceable. In the past years, she released her tracks “Oh Please” on Damian Lazarus’ label Crosstown Rebels, followed by the deeper “Moon” featuring her own vocals.
“‘Moon’ is special because it came together very naturally and spontaneously. I used my own voice in the track, saying ‘reach the moon, reach the light”, she says. “It’s deeper and more atmospheric than my other work. It wasn’t overthought or overproduced, and I think that rawness is what makes it so powerful and unique.”
Her growing discography is coming along great since her very first release “Avatar” on BLOND:ISH’s label Abracadabra. The track was even part of a compilation album and showcase for BLOND:ISH’s environmental non-profit named Bye-Bye-Plastic, for which SHARE is a dedicated ambassador.

Committed to Activism
Her affiliation with Bye-Bye-Plastic goes 5 years back, with the mission to create awareness about single-use plastics. It’s clear that SHARE isn’t just building a music career, she’s helping build a better future for the planet, starting with the music industry.
Recognizing that artists can use their platform to spark real change, it’s important to her to do as much as she can, even in small ways. “I always include an eco rider with my hospitality”, she explains. “No plastic in the DJ booth, only glass bottles. Even small things like this can create awareness, it makes the venue managers and promoters realize, and that’s where change starts.”
Her connection to environmental advocacy runs deep. Before stepping into the DJ booth full-time, she held the title of Miss Universe Netherlands, where sustainability was already her cause.

Charged by The Dancefloor
SHARE has lit up stages across Europe, performing at renowned festivals and venues such as Goat Community in Portugal, The Gardens of Babylon in the Netherlands, VoodooVillage in Belgium, Woomoon at Cova Santa in Ibiza, Gate Club in Paris, and The Sanctuary in Sardinia. No matter the setting, she is known to bring an electrifying energy to every set, bouncing along behind the decks, fully in sync with the crowd, creating a high-energy atmosphere.
However, being a female DJ in a male-dominated industry often comes with its own set of challenges, as she can elaborate on. “I’ve had moments where I wasn’t taken seriously, being elbowed aside in the DJ booth or even someone plugging in their USB while I was still mid-set. These experiences are disappointing. But they also taught me to stand my ground and continue creating the kind of supportive environment I want to see more of in the industry“, she explains.
One of the biggest advantages of being a female DJ for SHARE personally is the strong sense of community and support among women in the scene. “There’s a real softness and care in the way we connect and uplift each other. It’s not about competition, we each have our own unique style and presence, and that makes space for mutual encouragement rather than comparison. I truly value that energy and believe it’s something really powerful we’re building together.”
