Wilde Moehre Festival (Drebkau, Germany) 2027

Wilde Moehre returns to Drebkau from 20 to 23 August 2027, and the 2027 edition arrives under a new name: Wilde Moehre mit Freude. The organisers ended the festival in its original form after 2026, saying that the community, the cultural landscape and the site itself were all changing and that they did not want to respond by simply making the same event slightly larger or more expensive every year.

What follows is a structural change rather than a rebrand. The grounds will now host several separate formats alongside Wilde Moehre: a dedicated family festival, the sex positive festival Fluidity, the return of Lusatia and a new strand called By Nature built around nature, retreat and wellbeing. The idea is to give the different communities that had grown inside one festival their own space rather than squeezing them into a single weekend.

Ownership has changed too. Around 100 people from the community have become co-owners through the mit Freude cooperative, which now holds part of the festival and is intended to secure the site and the culture built on it over the long term. Members have a vote on decisions and direction. Drebkau sits in Lusatia in southern Brandenburg, around 30 minutes from Cottbus and two hours from Berlin. It remains a music, art and community music festival, now owned in part by the people who attend it.
