Klangtherapie Festival (Plankenfels (Scherleithen), Germany) 2027

Klangtherapie Festival returns to Scherleithen from 5 to 9 August 2027, taking over a field in the Fraenkische Schweiz hills of northern Bavaria for four days of music and workshops. The festival has run since 2003 and describes itself as a parallel universe: five stages with non stop music, more than 100 DJs, bands and live acts, and over 70 workshops and talks running through the daytime.

The booking is deliberately broad. Techno and tech house sit alongside downtempo, drum and bass, trance, groove, hip hop and punk, and the organisers are explicit about operating away from the commercial festival circuit. Daytime programming covers workshops, lectures, art and performance, with a sauna and wellness area, a games area, a hammock park and a family camp with a dedicated kids space.

Blind tickets for 2027 sold out, with early bird tickets released afterwards through the official site. The crew also run Klangklubnacht club nights through the winter, including dates at the Z-Bau in Nuremberg. Scherleithen sits near Plankenfels in the Bayreuth district, around an hour from Nuremberg by road. The organisers marked 20 years with a documentary about how a farm field became a cultural space. It is a long running German music festival that treats the daytime as seriously as the night.
